Registered Nurse Mother Baby PRN Nights
About The Position
The Mother/Baby unit serves postpartum patients in all-private rooms and includes a newborn nursery. Mother/Baby Registered Nurses care for mothers and their babies as units, though during the night, nurses are assigned to moms and babies separately. Nursery Registered Nurses attend deliveries and complete initial assessments. Lactation consultants are available for patient and staff teaching. New graduates are welcome. The Registered Nurse implements the nursing process for each assigned patient, regardless of age (infancy to geriatric), and is responsible for patient care consistent with Kentucky Nursing Laws and organizational policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse promotes positive patient outcomes, quality patient care, and initiates change through active involvement in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils, contributing to a healthy professional practice environment.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in nursing
- Active Kentucky License
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 90 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Implement the nursing process for each assigned patient, regardless of age (i.e. infancy to geriatric)
