About The Position

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Med Surg unit. This is a PRN position with varied shifts. The Health Support Center (HSC) team supports those in facilities who are interfacing and providing care to patients and community members. The 22-bed Med Surge unit is split onto two floors with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6 and is staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Patient Sitters. They provide care for a variety of patients including those on dialysis, diabetes, heart disease, geriatric patients, and recovering surgical patients.

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Nursing degree from an accredited program
• BLS and ACLS required

Nice To Haves

• 1 year RN experience preferred
• Compassionate nurse with an ability to provide expert and compassionate care to a diverse patient population with various medical conditions while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
