Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring an RN for our Medicine Cardiac Telemetry Unit. This is a full-time position with a night shift schedule. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN also demonstrates professional performance standards in ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses the clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. The 4 West unit is a 24-bed medical-surgical unit with a specialized focus in cardiac care, also providing care to a diverse medical-surgical population with various diagnoses. The unit offers a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment with LPNs and PCTs assisting in patient care. Dedicated Unit Coordinators and experienced nurse preceptors foster a structured, supportive, and nurturing learning environment, making it ideal for professional growth. The unit has a strong track record of high-quality patient outcomes and exceptional patient experience. New graduate RNs are welcome to apply and will participate in an 11-week Transition to Practice program, followed by a 6-month residency program.
