Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is a nationally recognized leader in inpatient rehabilitation, delivering hospital-level care for patients with complex medical needs. Our Inpatient Acute Rehab Medically Complex Unit specializes in caring for patients recovering from cardiac conditions, cancer-related diagnoses, and other medically complex illnesses who require intensive rehabilitation with close medical oversight. As an RN in inpatient acute rehab, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and clinical coordination for medically complex patients. You’ll collaborate closely with LPNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary therapy teams to manage higher-acuity conditions, support intensive rehabilitation, and drive safe discharge planning. This unit is ideal for RNs who value clinical autonomy, interdisciplinary teamwork, and caring for medically complex patients in a fast-paced, hospital-based rehabilitation environment where you can see meaningful progress in a short period of time. Summary Registered Nurses are a key member of the multi-disciplinary team that collaborates together to provide patient-centered care. Within the Nursing Department, RNs coordinate, direct, delegate, and provide care to multiple patients. Using a patient and family-centered care approach, each RN develops relationships with patients, families, and colleagues that enhance the quality of care provided. Nursing care is performed with compassion and courtesy, and each RN is responsible for following departmental policies and service standards. Patient and family education is a primary focus of rehabilitation nursing and is a critical aspect of the interdisciplinary team’s efforts to assist patients to gain independence, apply adaptation strategies, and return home.
