About The Position

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join their Medical/Surgical units. This role supports various units, including surge areas and inpatient admissions, and features a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit handles a diverse patient population and collaborates closely with the emergency department and other inpatient units to ensure timely admissions, efficient throughput, and excellent patient outcomes. Requirements

Registered Nurse
BLS within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
Support Medical/Surgical units, including surge areas and inpatient admissions.
Work closely with the emergency department and other inpatient units to ensure timely admissions, efficient throughput, and exceptional patient outcomes.
