Parker Plano, TX 75093 Work hours: Full-Time Nights 7p- 7a - Weekend and holiday requirements Medical Surgical Department highlights: 22- bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit 1:5 RN: patient ratio, 1 PCT for every 10-11 pts Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program; nursing diploma
- 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program req
- RN Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
