About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Medical Surgical (Telemetry) department at Texas Health Plano. The role involves delivering care to patients using the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will also maintain continuity of patient care and incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in various areas including emergency medicine, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, women's services, behavioral health, and advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility with Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal designations, and a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. The hospital is a four-time Magnet-designated facility with a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program and an AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit. It is accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement and is a Primary Heart Attack Center.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program; nursing diploma
1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program
RN Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
