About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at Texas Health Plano. The unit has 22 beds with a 1:5 RN to patient ratio and 1 PCT for every 10-11 patients. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will also incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiate actions to meet patient information needs, and maintain continuity of patient care.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program; nursing diploma
• 1 year experience as a registered nurse or completion of a RN residency program
• RN Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient

• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
