About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting in Massachusetts. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry environment while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry experience, IV therapy expertise, and the ability to independently perform phlebotomy. Candidates should demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and strong care coordination skills. Previous travel nursing and float experience are preferred.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 2+ years of Medical/Surgical Telemetry RN experience
  • Strong IV therapy experience required
  • Ability to independently perform phlebotomy
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Completion of Medical/Surgical IV Medication Module
  • Completion of Basic Arrhythmia Exam
  • Experience caring for telemetry patients required
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care coordination skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced acute care environments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Prior float pool experience preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred
  • Strong adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to Medical/Surgical Telemetry patients
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond appropriately to patient condition changes
  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to established nursing standards
  • Perform IV therapy management and intravenous medication administration
  • Perform independent phlebotomy as needed
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge needs
  • Document patient care accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Recognize and respond effectively to emergency and urgent patient situations
  • Care for post-operative and orthopedic patients
  • Manage patients with chest drainage systems and epidural analgesia
  • Assess and manage pain effectively
  • Administer and monitor cardiac medications
  • Follow infection control, patient safety, restraint, and patient rights protocols
  • Provide compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
  • Maintain compliance with all hospital and departmental standards and policies
  • Address age-specific care needs for adult and geriatric populations
  • Float between affiliated healthcare facilities as needed
