About The Position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) unit. This is a PRN position with variable hours, requiring 2x12 hour shifts per pay period, one weekend per month, and one major and minor holiday per year. Requirements

  • Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 7 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Decisive judgment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year previous experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
