The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Department at Texas Health will be responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning their care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of those interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintaining continuity of patient care across shifts, between hospitals, and during transfers. The Medical Surgical Department is a 25-bed unit that handles a fast-paced, high-volume of cases including post-surgery care for ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery, and general medical overflow patients. The department boasts a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.
