About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Department at Texas Health Allen will be responsible for delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also involves incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. The Medical Surgical Department is a 25-bed unit that handles post-surgery care including ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery, and general medical overflow patients in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of medical surgical experience strongly preferred
