About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the medical clinic provides professional nursing care to patients within a clinic or physician practice setting. Responsibilities include assisting physicians during treatments and examinations, administering medications as ordered, and performing therapeutic measures as directed or independently. The RN observes, records, and reports symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients while providing education on illness management, disease prevention, and health promotion. State licensure is required.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or compact state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a medical clinic, physician office, or ambulatory care setting, preferred.
  • Experience in patient education and disease prevention preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to clinic patients, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assist physicians and providers during patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Administer medications, injections, and treatments as ordered by the physician or provider.
  • Perform other therapeutic measures as directed or as part of independent nursing functions.
  • Observe, document, and report patients’ symptoms, reactions to treatments, progress, and overall condition.
  • Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and pre-visit screenings.
  • Educate patients and families on illness management, medications, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, and other clinical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment to support patient care.
  • Assist with triage duties, patient scheduling, and coordination of care as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Follow clinic protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance clinical operations and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
