About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Med Surg department at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL, focuses on providing compassionate care to patients. The role involves completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and offering physical and psychological support to patients and their families. The RN will also teach patients and families about their condition, medications, and self-care, and work towards establishing patient care goals. Quality of care is ensured by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and making necessary adjustments based on nursing philosophies and state regulations. This is a full-time position with a weekend-only option available, specifically for the night shift.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
