About The Position

Med/Surge Garden is a 24-bed medical/surgical unit with mixed acuity, specializing in the care of stroke and oncology patients. The unit maintains an average daily census of 24 patients, with an average length of stay of 3–4 days. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 5:1, and nursing assistant ratios are 7:1. Some patients may require chemotherapy, so familiarity with oncology care is beneficial, though not required. The unit thrives on teamwork, accountability, and a drive for continuous improvement. Known for its culture of inquiry and inclusion, Med/Surge Garden fosters both professional and personal growth through collaboration with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team. Coordination between shifts is exceptional, leading to efficient workflows and improved patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • familiarity with oncology care is beneficial, though not required.

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
