About The Position
This is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse, RN professional to work in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Loyola Medicine's 3 hospitals are located approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago. The Orthopedic & Spine Unit is a 21-bed unit that cares for post-operative orthopedic patients, post-operative neuro-spine, post-operative bariatric, post-operative plastic surgery patients. In addition to general medical patients who are also admitted to the unit. MacNeal nurses participate in shared governance and are active in practice-related decision making that influence their daily work. Our nurses are empowered to make meaningful changes to process and policy to positively impact patient outcomes and their work environment. Furthermore, we foster an environment of professional growth through continued education opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and support for nursing specialty certification.
Requirements
- A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
- BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
- Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire
Responsibilities
- Cares for post-operative orthopedic patients
- Cares for post-operative neuro-spine patients
- Cares for post-operative bariatric patients
- Cares for post-operative plastic surgery patients
- Cares for general medical patients
- Participate in shared governance
- Active in practice-related decision making
- Make meaningful changes to process and policy to positively impact patient outcomes and their work environment
