About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role is responsible for the assessment of patients including the development, evaluation and modification of the plan of care. Provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their area of expertise. Role functions as members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway and plan of care. Patients served include all age groups (Infant through Older Adult as identified in Performance Standards).

Requirements

  • An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current Maryland RN licensure is required prior to beginning orientation.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience is required.
  • If there is gap in applied nursing experience of 5 years or more successful completion of a refresher course within past 6 months is required.
  • Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
  • Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient information.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science from a College of Nursing is preferred.
  • Professional Certification is highly encouraged.
  • Employees hired on or after July 1, 2018 will be required to complete a Bachelor of Science from a College of Nursing within 5 years from the date of hire or transfer into a Clinical Nursing position.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
  • Demonstrates versatility and willingness to work within the PRN RN Standardized Program as set forth in assigned Unit Based or Hospital Based commitment levels.
