About The Position

Fairview is looking for an experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) RN to support a casual/float role across multiple clinic locations, including Burnsville, Maplewood Specialty Clinic, and Brooklyn Park. This position requires flexibility and the ability to float to all designated clincs. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Requirements

  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • Minimum two years of full-time Level II or Level III Labor and Delivery RN experience and/or 3 years of Maternal Fetal Medicine experience.
  • Successful completion of a fetal monitoring course that provides overview of intrapartum fetal monitoring, including the maternal-fetal oxygenation pathway, assessing uterine activity and recognizing, interpreting, and managing FHR patterns.
  • MFM RN is able to define the characteristics of FHR and uterine activity obtained via auscultation. palpation, and EFM methods and interpret electronic FHR and uterine patterns.

  • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
  • Assessment of the low risk and high-risk pregnant mother/family
