Registered Nurse (RN) Main PACU
About The Position
Inova Fairfax Hospital's Main Tower PACU is currently seeking a Full-Time PACU experienced registered nurse to support various shift times (0800-2030, 0900-2130, 1000-2230, 1100-2330, and 1200-0030). This dynamic perianesthesia care unit (PACU) serves a wide variety of surgical patients from ambulatory to critical care, including ENT, general, colorectal, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastics, thoracic, transplants, and urology. The unit cares for patients across the entire age continuum, from pediatric to geriatric. Nurses in this unit care for the perianesthesia patient throughout all phases including Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2, and can rotate as needed to fit the needs of the unit. Requirements
- 1 year of PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) nursing experience
- Basic Life Support through AHA certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

- 2 years of PACU and/or critical care nursing experience (ICU or ED)
Responsibilities
- Care for perianesthesia patients throughout all phases including Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2.
- Rotate as needed to fit the needs of the unit.
- Support various shift times, including potential weekend shifts and holidays.
- Participate in on-call shifts as required.
