This is a part-time Registered Nurse position in the Liberty Emergency Department, requiring 20 hours per week with a PM shift. The role involves following professional practice standards, questioning current practices to improve patient care, assisting in peer development through precepting and knowledge sharing, and utilizing self-appraisal for competence and professional development. The nurse will also be involved in identifying and implementing safety best practices, mitigating risks, and using research to enhance professional knowledge. The position requires systems thinking to recognize and affect the patient experience within the healthcare environment, anticipating patient and family needs, and utilizing resources effectively. Inclusion is a key aspect, involving consideration of patient values, supporting colleagues, engaging patients and families, protecting their rights, inquiring about cultural differences, and accommodating differences in the plan of care. Clinical judgment involves collecting and interpreting complex patient data, making judgments based on the overall picture, recognizing patterns, documenting care, responding to subtle patient changes, tailoring care to individual needs, promoting a healing and safe environment, and integrating age-specific concepts. The role also includes developing care goals through partnerships with patients, using teach-back strategies, coordinating education, and integrating strategies for patient/family adaptation to the home environment.
