Registered Nurse (RN) Level 2 Trauma Operating Room
About The Position
Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join their team. This team member will support patients on weekdays. The role is within a high acuity, fast-paced, multispecialty operating room that serves as Loudoun County’s first and only designated trauma center – now Level 2. The Perioperative Services Team supports 8 state-of-the-art operating suites, two special procedure rooms, and advanced technology including the robotic-assisted daVinci® Surgical System and MAKOplasty® Total Hip and Knee. The surgery department is staffed for emergency surgery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility includes 16 private Pre-Op rooms and 14 PACU bays. The hospital offers surgical services in Trauma, General, Breast, Colon-Rectal, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Neurosurgery, ENT, Vascular, Thoracic, Maxillofacial and Plastic.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
- BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.

- Minimum of 1 year of RN scrub experience
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
- Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
- Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
- Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
