About The Position
Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (RN) in Albuquerque, NM. Lovelace Women’s Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing
- One (1) year of training and program development experience
- Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire)
- Intensified training in lactation
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- NRP
- Current IBCLC or IBCLC Exam scheduled within one (1) year from date of hire
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Responsibilities
- Responsible for applying professional clinical skills and expertise to the care and management of breastfeeding infants and lactating mothers.
- Responsible for the development, promotion and implementation of lactation support services to clinical staff, patients and community members.
- Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance
