Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Delivery and Postpartum Care (LDRP)
About The Position

We’re seeking motivated Registered Nurses to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Labor and Delivery and Postpartum Care Unit. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty.
Requirements
- RN-Associate’s Degree
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Diploma
- RN-Master’s Degree
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire
- Will consider new grads who have preceptorship or PCT experience on an L&D floor.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN preferred
- At least 1 year of acute care nursing experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
- Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
- Provide care of laboring patients from admission to discharge including labor and delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
- Care for OBGYN surgical patients to include hysterectomies and mastectomies.
