About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery at Texas Health Rockwall. It is a PRN (as needed) position requiring variable 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays. The role requires availability for a minimum of six 12-hour shifts per six-week period, two weekend shifts per six-week period, one major holiday, and two minor holiday shifts per year. Training will be conducted at the corporate office in Arlington during the first 1-5 days of hire. The Labor & Delivery Department is highlighted as a supportive team environment with a family atmosphere, a strong shared governance structure, and new, advanced equipment and technology.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s degree in Nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1 year experience as registered nurse required
  • 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
  • Texas RN - Registered Nurse required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required upon hire and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
  • NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • STABLE Program completion recommended
  • AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring required within two years of hire
