Registered Nurse – RN - IV Therapy
About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids. This role involves inserting and maintaining peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines. The nurse will administer and monitor medications, blood products, and fluids, calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments. Collaboration with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family is essential to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
- Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- 1 year of experience with PICC lines placement/access/de-access, Midlines, Port access/de-access, and placement of Peripheral sites is required.
- Certification support available post-hire for BLS/CPR.
