About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN II) in the IR Cath Lab at Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth plays a crucial role in patient care. This full-time position involves caring for patients with Cardiac, Peripheral Vascular, or Electrophysiology related diseases, as well as performing Interventional Radiology procedures. The role requires a 30-minute call response time, including STEMI call, and some weekend and holiday call. The facility is Magnet designated and holds multiple certifications for quality patient care.

Requirements

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support within ninety (90) days required
One (1) year experience as a clinical Registered Nurse or completion of an RN Residency program required
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
Exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient

Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
