The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Radiology will work within the Good Shepherd Cath Lab, which features 4 Labs: 1 dedicated IR space, 1 dedicated Cath Lab, 1 EP room, and 1 Hybrid room. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. Upholding a culture of safety and continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes are key. The role may involve administering medications, treatments, and therapies, demonstrating effective communication, and pursuing professional development. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making is expected, along with appropriate delegation to other healthcare professionals. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is required. The nurse must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development over the life span.
