Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid U.S. passport
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency-response skills.
- Sound independent clinical judgment.
- Comfort working where immediate hospital resources are not available.
- Experience managing medications and clinical documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly structured environment.
- Flexibility and comfort with domestic and international travel.
Nice To Haves
- Fluency in Spanish
- Experience in Government, military, correctional, public-health, or other regulated healthcare environments
- DHS or detention health
- Pre-hospital care, including Paramedic or EMT experience
- Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit or critical care
- Acute-care nursing
- Transport, aeromedical, or flight nursing
Responsibilities
- Monitor individuals during flight for changes in physical or behavioral health status.
- Provide appropriate intervention and respond to medical events within scope of practice.
- Identify medical or behavioral health concerns that may require additional evaluation during travel.
- Provide clinical input regarding an individual's medical readiness for transportation.
- Coordinate with physicians, advanced practice providers, flight crews, operational personnel, and sending or receiving healthcare teams as needed.
- Complete required clinical documentation if required.
- Follow established infection-prevention, aviation-safety, medication-management, confidentiality, and clinical protocols.
- Maintain readiness to provide care in a resource-limited airborne environment.
- The role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
