About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health Plano is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients. This role is part of a 30-bed self-scheduling unit where care is overseen by board-certified critical care physicians and supported by a team of critical care nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants available 24 hours a day. The hospital, Texas Health Plano, is a 386-bed full-service facility serving North Texas, specializing in various areas including emergency medicine, trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, women's services, behavioral health, and advanced surgical services. It holds designations such as Level II Trauma Facility, Level IV NICU, Level IV Maternal facility, and a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. The ICU unit itself is an AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit, and the hospital is a four-time Magnet-designated facility.

Requirements

Diploma Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing required.
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Req
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon—prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support –Within 90 days of hire Required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
ICU experience strongly preferred
