About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver specialized care for patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries, including spine procedures, hip surgeries, acute traumatic injuries, orthopedic oncology cases, and hardware removal. The role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-acuity, resource-intensive care tailored to complex orthopedic needs. The nurse will also support medical and surgical patients from additional service lines, particularly Neurosurgery, based on unit demand and patient needs. This position manages diverse admission pathways, including patients arriving from the emergency department, outside-hospital direct admissions, PACU, and transfers from other inpatient units.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.
