Requirements

  • BLS
  • Current ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card
  • Active Washington RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
  • Oncology, infusion, or outpatient clinic experience

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree nursing (ADN) or a bachelor’s degree nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or required within established timeframe, based on facility needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients prior to treatment and monitor responses throughout infusion therapy.
  • Administer IV medications, fluids, blood products, and other prescribed therapies according to provider orders and established protocols.
  • Establish and maintain peripheral IV access and care for central lines, PICC lines, and implanted ports.
  • Monitor adverse reactions and initiate appropriate interventions when needed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards.
