Step into this crucial role, responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of our Infection Prevention and Control Program. Monitor cases of communicable diseases, health care-associated infections and epidemiologically significant organisms. Collect, analyze and report on surveillance data, ensuring the program complies with all applicable regulations. Identify and investigate potential outbreaks, and implement appropriate prevention and control measures. Provide consultation services to various departments throughout our hospital, by partnering closely with staff nurses, nursing leaders and physicians on their infection prevention and control. Regularly evaluate the program, and actively participate in performance improvement initiatives. This is a per diem day shift position at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • Minimum of two years of infection prevention and control experience
  • Experience in educating clinical staff
  • Ability to evaluate performance of high level disinfection

Responsibilities
