About The Position

Registered Nurse RN for Imaging Center Prep and Recovering. This is a Full-Time benefited position, scheduled for 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE). The shift is Day shift, with no weekends or holidays. The unit operates weekdays from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. We offer a variety of full and part-time positions with 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts. Assignments maintain a 2/3 patient to nurse ratio.

The Imaging Center Prep and Recovery RN supports 22 bays for the Cath Lab, Ep Lab, and Interventional Radiology. Prep duties include a pre-procedure checklist to verify the patient’s allergies, medications, and lab values are within the guidelines for the scheduled procedure. This may also include neuro and pulse checks, shaving, and pre-procedure antibiotics.

Recovery duties involve monitoring vital signs, incision sites, dressings, and educating patients on discharge instructions while they maintain procedure-specific bedrest. This may also include post-procedure neuro, pulse, and groin checks, and sheath pulling.

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) are requirements as procedures in all areas can involve mild sedation to general anesthesia.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Nice To Haves

• BSN degree (required for new hires effective January 1, 2013, or agreement to obtain within five years)

Responsibilities
