About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN II) in Surgery at Texas Health Fort Worth will bring their passion to a team that is 'Better + Together'. This is a full-time, evening shift position (36 Hours/Week) in a fast-paced, high-volume department averaging 75 surgeries per day. The department is a Level I Trauma Candidate performing high-acuity and intense surgical procedures, offering excellent clinical experience. Surgical offerings include Robotics, Complex spine and ortho trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required
  • 1 Year Of Experience as a Registered Nurse or the completion of an RN residency program Required
  • Current RN licensure Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
