This position delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The role also incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care, initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. The ICU department is a 12-bed unit specializing in high-quality care for critical patients, with opportunities to train in high acuity skills such as Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Targeted Temperature Management, Impella, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). The unit offers professional growth, career development, and support to ensure the highest level of quality care. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Advanced Nurse Practitioner coverage for exceptional pulmonary critical care patient oversight. National Certification Preparation and Courses are offered, as well as test reimbursement/bonus. There is great nurse/doctor collaboration and self-scheduling is offered.
