About The Position

This Registered Nurse position is for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Health Alliance. The ICU is a 12-bed unit specializing in high-quality care for critical patients. Opportunities are available for training in advanced skills such as Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Targeted Temperature Management, Impella, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT). The unit offers professional growth, career development, and support to ensure the highest level of patient care. There is 24/7 Intensivist/Advanced Nurse Practitioner coverage for pulmonary critical care oversight. Texas Health Alliance is a 151-bed hospital serving the North Fort Worth community since 2012, offering a range of services including a Level III NICU, and is Joint Commission-accredited.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma in Nursing required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days required
• NIHSS – within 60 days of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
• 1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• At least 1 year of current ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
