About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice position at Trellis Supportive Care involves providing compassionate medical, emotional, spiritual, and social support to individuals living with life-limiting illness. This role focuses on helping patients live fully and comfortably during life's most challenging times. The position is based at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and offers a schedule that supports work-life balance with three 12-hour shifts per week. The organization is North Carolina's first free-standing, not-for-profit hospice organization, serving patients and families across the Piedmont/Triad region since 1979.

Requirements

Current North Carolina RN license
Charge RN experience
Excellent nursing assessment and critical thinking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service
Sensitivity to the needs of terminally ill patients and families
Ability to cope with emotional stress and respect diverse lifestyles
Proficiency with electronic medical records

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate medical, emotional, spiritual, and social support to individuals living with life-limiting illness.
Help patients live fully and comfortably.
Serve as a Charge RN after initial training as a floor nurse.
Perform nursing assessments and utilize critical thinking skills.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of terminally ill patients and families.
Cope with emotional stress and respect diverse lifestyles.
Utilize electronic medical records proficiently.
