About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice for an exciting Travel or Local job in Missoula, MT. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients with a focus on comfort and symptom management. The nurse will administer medications, treatments, and interventions, perform ongoing patient assessments, and adjust care plans as needed. Emotional support, education, and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers are key components of this role. The position also requires participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, supervision of CNAs, and coordination with other healthcare professionals. Accurate and timely documentation and adherence to safety protocols are essential. The role supports both inpatient hospice unit operations and home hospice visits.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (Montana or Compact License).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in Hospice Nursing, Palliative Care, Critical Care, or Medical-Surgical Nursing.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and patient advocacy skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate end-of-life care in diverse care settings.

  • Previous hospice or end-of-life care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients with a focus on comfort and symptom management.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospice care plans.
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments and adjust care plans based on patient needs and condition changes.
  • Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
  • Supervise and delegate appropriate patient care tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Monitor CNA documentation and provide mentorship and guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient communications.
  • Follow infection prevention and safety protocols to maintain a safe care environment.
  • Support both inpatient hospice unit operations and home hospice visits as census demands.
