About The Position

8DE - High Risk Postpartum is an 18-bed Postpartum/GYN unit providing obstetrical and Gynecological care to females from adolescence through older adult with multicultural backgrounds. Inpatient care is provided twenty-four hours a day to patients admitted with acute obstetrical and/or surgical conditions. Patient types consist of postpartum mothers with medical complications that require an increased level of care after a vaginal or c-section delivery. Early gestation patients may be admitted to the unit for medical complications. Gynecological diagnoses consist of hysterectomy, exploratory laparotomy, fetal demise, ectopic pregnancies, and post urology procedures. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4.5, adjusted based on acuity.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• At least 6 months of RN experience (not for new graduates).
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred.

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
