Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of women’s health. 2700 is a 20-bed Postpartum unit providing service and care to mother-baby couplets who are well, but additionally treating mothers with pre-eclampsia, newborns whose mothers are diagnosed with chorioamnionitis, high risk postpartum conditions such as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, and surgical patients who have undergone C-section, post-partum tubal ligation, and/or hysterectomy during childbirth. This is a fast-paced unit that provides staff with the extremely rewarding opportunity to impact and educate new families as well as work through adoption and surrogate scenarios.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • BS/BSN required.
  • If BS degree not in nursing, a master’s or higher degree in nursing required
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Obstetrics nursing experience preferred.
  • National Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and deliver employee evaluations.
  • Conduct selection and hiring of staff.
  • Manage the daily performance for a group of direct reports.
  • Provide service-based education and clinical expertise for staff including orientation and training.
  • Consult on practice issues.
  • General coordination of clinical activities.
  • May have shift accountability for delivering nursing care when needed.
  • Actively participate in the role of preceptor for student nurses, nurse interns, graduate and experienced nurses.
  • Assist with the development of new preceptors in their role.
  • Serve as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identifying patient and staff focused opportunities for improvement and leading the change process.
  • Assume formal leadership responsibilities for one or more of the following: quality improvement, evidence-based practice, GN or new hire on-boarding.
  • Complete and/or assist with staff performance evaluations for direct reports as applicable.
