This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, administering medications and treatments, demonstrating effective communication, and pursuing professional development. Ethical decision-making, respect for interdisciplinary roles, and appropriate delegation are also essential. Accurate electronic health record (EHR) documentation is required. The nurse may be required to float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs and must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care. This role is Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with approximately 3-4 Saturdays per year, for which a weekday off will be provided.
