The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This role utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. The position is located on the 14 West unit, a 31-bed High Reliability General Medicine Care unit, which includes private and semi-private rooms. The unit focuses on Hospice Care, Adult Cystic Fibrosis, general medical/surgical diagnosis, and substance abuse. The typical patient population includes those with abdominal pain, pneumonia, infectious diseases, substance abuse, pain management, and chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The unit is equipped with one negative pressure isolation room and operates with a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care, promoting and practicing according to the relationship-based care model of nursing.
