About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Critical Care System Wide Float Pool. This role involves assignments in any adult critical care, telemetry, or transitional care unit across multiple facilities (Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence & Ft. Thomas, and Dearborn). Assignments may also include patients boarding in other areas such as the Emergency Department (ED), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care using the nursing process. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to established standards and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The role requires demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Hold a BSN.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky and Indiana, or possess a state license letter of eligibility.
  • 18-month minimum clinical RN nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Competent in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every encounter with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Perform safe nursing skills and procedures independently.
  • Critically think and problem-solve in routine and emergency situations.
  • Meet contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Demonstrate and document competencies for the assigned clinical area.
