About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is for the Float Pool, working Full-Time, Day Shift. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessing the patient, planning their care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The nurse will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintain continuity of patient care between shifts, hospitals, and during transfers. Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork operate as one hospital across two locations, serving the southwest Fort Worth area. This 261-bed facility offers specialties in surgical services, orthopedics, rehabilitation, imaging, and adult critical care, with a 24-hour emergency department. It holds certifications as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, and Level III Neonatal Center, and is accredited for Breast care and Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Texas Health Southwest has earned Magnet designation, a CMS 5-Star rating, and recognition from U.S. News & World Report.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support - within 90 days of hire Required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire Required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support – required for ED Neighborhood within 90 days of hire Required
  • NIHSS - required for ICU/PCU Neighborhood 6 Months Required
