About The Position

Join the Float Pool Night Shift team at Alton Memorial Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, where nurses are supported, recognized, and empowered to deliver high‑quality patient care across multiple units. This full‑time role is designed for Registered Nurses with at least two years of nursing experience and offers schedule stability, strong benefits, and opportunities to grow and advance at the bedside in a collaborative, community‑based environment. Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

Minimum two (2) years of critical care nursing experience required
Open to ADN, BSN, and MSN prepared nurses
Full‑time night shift: Three (3) 12‑hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Float Pool role, supporting multiple inpatient units
RN License
Nursing Diploma/Associate's in Nursing

Nice To Haves

NIHSS certification
BLS, ACLS (ALS), PALS, and/or JumpStart
Experience with telemetry monitoring interpretation
IV therapy skills, including the ability to insert peripheral IV lines
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
