About The Position

The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and is responsible for caring for the patient and the development of nursing plan of care. Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care. Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support). Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients. Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire.
  • Recent RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year rehabilitation nursing experience
  • One (1) year of Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing experience
  • One (1) year of ER experience
