About The Position

This role provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families, practicing to the fullest extent of employee license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Float Team to implement the patient’s plan of care and provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of populations served.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of beside RN experience required
  • Minimum Work Experience: At least two (2) years experience as a Registered Nurse required (unless previous LPN experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required
  • Handle with Care preferred
  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of Critical Care experience preferred
  • ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position for NPCU, IMCU
  • ACLS within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position for Telemetry
  • ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position for CVICU, CCU, NICU
  • ASLS and TNCC preferred for ED
  • NRP, Fetal Monitoring and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position for LDRP
  • NRP within three months of hire or transfer into the position for Nursery

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
