About The Position
Hilo Medical Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a Flex Pool night shift assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple medical and surgical care units while delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative acute care environment. The Flex Pool RN will float between designated units based on patient care needs and staffing requirements. Candidates must be adaptable, clinically confident, and comfortable working in fast-paced medical-surgical and step-down settings. Hilo Medical Center is part of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation East Region and serves the Big Island community with comprehensive healthcare services. Located in beautiful Hilo, Hawaii, the facility offers a supportive clinical environment and the opportunity to work within a diverse patient population.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
- Candidates without a current Hawaii license must apply upon offer acceptance
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Med-Surg and/or Step Down care preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Additional preferred certifications: PALS
- Procedural Sedation
- TNCC
- ENPC
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and step-down patients
- Perform patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately using EMR systems
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float between assigned units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
- Maintain professional standards and adherence to hospital protocols
