Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow - Level 2 Trauma Operating Room
About The Position
Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow to join its Operating Room team. The position is intended for experienced nurses changing specialties. The selected nurse must complete the OR Fellowship after starting. The Spring 2027 cohort begins March 1. The Perioperative Services Team supports eight operating suites, two special procedure rooms, minimally invasive robotic surgery technology, 16 private Pre-Op rooms, and 14 PACU bays. The department provides scheduled and emergency surgical services, with emergency surgery coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Surgical services include trauma, general, breast, colon-rectal, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, neurosurgery, ENT, vascular, thoracic, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing. Nurses with an Associate's Degree (ADN) must complete a BSN within 5 years of their start date.
- Must be licensed as an RN, or eligible to practice as an RN, in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of acute or critical care Registered Nurse experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of the patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
- Conduct all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
- Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
- Attend and participate in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship.
