Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow - Operating Room
About The Position
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow for its Spring 2027 cohort, beginning March 1, 2027. The role is intended for experienced nurses seeking to change specialties. The nurse is required to complete the Operating Room Fellowship upon starting. The fellow joins a fast-paced perioperative team focused on teamwork and patient safety. Inova Mount Vernon is a community hospital with eight operating room suites serving robotics, general surgery, orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, urology, and gynecology. The operating room functions 24/7, with a call team supporting off-shifts and holidays. The position is full-time, day shift. Eligible nurses may qualify for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an associate degree from an accredited school of nursing. Nurses with an associate degree must complete a BSN within 5 years of their start date.
- Must be licensed as an RN, or eligible to practice as an RN, in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of acute or critical care Registered Nurse experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of the patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
- Conduct patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
- Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
- Attend and participate in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse Fellowship.
